About Warm Audio

Warm Audio builds studio gear inspired by the classics that shaped modern recording. Based in Texas, they reverse-engineer legendary circuits and components, then manufacture at scale to hit price points that make sense for working engineers and producers. Their WA-47 and WA-87 microphones reference Neumann designs from the '60s and '80s. Their EQP-WA tube equalizer takes cues from Pultec's original hardware. The goal is simple: deliver the warmth, color, and character of vintage analog gear without the vintage price tag or maintenance headaches.

Microphones

Warm Audio's mic lineup covers condensers, ribbons, and dynamics. The WA-47 Jr. gives you a scaled-down version of their flagship tube condenser, still using a custom K47-style capsule and a discrete signal path. The WA-87 R2 is their take on the classic '87 sound: bright top end, smooth mids, and three polar patterns. For ribbon work, the WA-44 mimics the RCA 44 design with a figure-8 pattern that handles vocals, brass, and room ambience. These mics compete with gear that costs two to three times as much.

Preamps and Compressors

The WA-73 preamp series borrows from the Neve 1073 topology: Class A discrete circuitry, transformer-balanced inputs and outputs, and that thick midrange punch. Pair it with the WA76 compressor, which follows the UREI 1176 blueprint with FET-based gain reduction and fast attack times for drums and bass. The Bus-Comp is their SSL-style stereo bus compressor, designed to glue mixes together without squashing dynamics. All of these units use premium components like CineMag transformers and Wima capacitors.

Cables and Accessories

Warm Audio also manufactures cables: XLR mic cables, TRS instrument cables, and multi-channel snakes. They use Mogami wire and Neutrik connectors, the same components found in boutique cable brands. The difference is price. You get reliable signal transfer and solid build quality without paying for a logo. They also offer DI boxes, headphones, and mic cases to round out the studio essentials.
