Description
The Warm Audio WA-47jr is a large-diaphragm, transformerless FET condenser microphone that brings the 47-style capsule into a modern, affordable design. It uses a gold-sputtered, dual-backplate K47-style capsule with a fully discrete signal path for warm lows, rich mids, and smooth highs. Three switchable polar patterns (cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8), a -10 dB pad, and a 70 Hz high-pass filter provide flexibility for vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, drum overheads, and more.
The transformerless output stage keeps the signal path clean and transparent, allowing the character of the K47-style capsule to come through with minimal coloration. With 9 dBA self-noise and 138 dBA dynamic range, the WA-47jr captures quiet details and handles loud peaks without the need for an external power supply beyond standard 48V phantom power. The -10 dB pad extends maximum SPL handling to 157 dB, and the 70 Hz high-pass filter reduces low-frequency rumble from air conditioning, foot traffic, and nearby bass sources.
