Description
The Warm Audio WA-47jr SE is a streamlined, cardioid-only version of the WA-47jr, designed for creators and engineers who want the 47-style tone without multi-pattern complexity. It features a gold-sputtered, single-backplate K47-style capsule, the same capsule family used in the flagship WA-47 tube microphone, with a fully discrete, transformerless signal path. The fixed cardioid pattern provides focused pickup with clean off-axis rejection, making it well suited for vocals, acoustic instruments, podcasting, and streaming.
The single-backplate capsule design simplifies the internal electronics compared to the dual-backplate version in the multi-pattern WA-47jr, allowing the SE to focus the signal path on cardioid performance. With 9 dBA self-noise and 138 dBA dynamic range, it captures fine detail on quiet sources while handling louder instruments cleanly. The SE runs on standard 48V phantom power with no external power supply needed, keeping the setup simple for home studios and content creation environments.
