About Vox

Vox has been building guitar amplifiers in the UK since 1957, and their AC30 became the sound of British rock. The Beatles, Queen, Radiohead, The Edge, these amps defined entire eras. That signature chime and breakup comes from EL84 power tubes and Celestion speakers, a combination Vox perfected decades ago and still builds today. The AC series remains their flagship, but they've expanded into practice amps, headphone amps, and Nutube-powered designs that bring tube tone into smaller, more affordable formats. Vox amps are known for their top boost channel, their ability to clean up with your guitar's volume knob, and that unmistakable jangle that cuts through a mix.

AC Series Tube Amps

The AC10, AC15, and AC30 are the core of the Vox lineup. The AC30 Custom with its 2x12 Celestion Greenback configuration delivers 30 watts of classic British crunch. The AC15 Custom offers the same voicing in a more manageable 15-watt package with a single 12-inch speaker. Both come in Custom and Hand-Wired versions, the Hand-Wired models use point-to-point construction and premium components for purists who want the original circuit. The AC10 Custom drops down to 10 watts, perfect for bedroom and small stage work. All three models are available with either Greenback or Alnico Blue speakers, and the Custom heads include a reactive attenuator so you can push the tubes hard at lower volumes.

Nutube and MV50 Series

Vox developed Nutube technology with Korg, a vacuum fluorescent display that behaves like a tube but runs on low voltage and stays cool. The MV50 heads use this tech to deliver 50 watts in a package the size of a guitar pedal. The MV50 AC models the classic Vox chime, the MV50 High Gain pushes into modern distortion territory, and the MV50 Brian May is voiced for Queen-style leads and harmonies. Pair any of them with the BC108 cabinet or your own 8-ohm cab. The MVX150H scales this up to 150 watts for players who need more headroom. The Mini Superbeetle series combines Nutube preamps with solid-state power in retro mini-stack enclosures.

Practice and Portable Gear

The amPlug 3 headphone amps plug directly into your guitar and run on two AAA batteries. The AC30 model simulates the classic Vox sound, the UK Drive adds more gain, and the US Silver covers Fender-style cleans. The amPlug 3 Bass and Modern Bass handle low end. All include aux input for playing along with tracks and work with the amPlug 2 Cabinet if you want to hear them through a speaker. The Pathfinder 10 is a straightforward 10-watt solid-state combo for practice, and the AC Mini shrinks the AC30 aesthetic down to a desktop-friendly format. The APC series guitars have built-in speakers, amps, and effects, plug in headphones or play unplugged anywhere.
