About Duesenberg

Duesenberg builds electric guitars, basses and lap steels in Hannover, Germany. Dieter Gölsdorf founded the company in 1986, and the instruments still carry his art-deco shapes, the three-step motif on headstock and hardware, and his own pickups and Tremola vibrato units. Every instrument leaves the factory Plek processed, with the frets levelled by machine and the setup finished by hand. In Canada Duesenberg comes through SFM, so stock listed here ships from their Montreal warehouse within a couple of business days.

Starplayer TV and the Semi-Hollows

The Starplayer TV is the model that made the name: a semi-hollow with a spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, a sustain block, a GrandVintage humbucker at the bridge, a Domino P90 at the neck and the Diamond Deluxe Tremola. It comes in a dozen finishes, left-handed, and as the TV Plus with a piezo in the bridge. The Deluxe adds a second GrandVintage and the Radiator Tremola, the Phonic swaps in the Phonico pickup covers, the Custom carries three D-Tron humbuckers, and the Velvet pairs matte finishes with Split/King pickups. The Starplayer CBR is the chambered mahogany version, and the Rusty Relic and Hanover Gold are the hand-aged limited editions.

Solid-Body and Chambered Guitars

The Paloma is the alder solid-body with three pickups and a four-way rotary switch, sold in sparkle and Catalina finishes, as a Baritone, and as the Paloma Custom with two Split/King pickups. The Julietta is the entry point to the range, a bolt-on alder guitar with the same GrandVintage and Domino pair, offered as a Baritone and left-handed. The Caribou, Julia and Double Cat are the chambered models, the Falken is the solid-body with the Radiator Tremola, the Fantom A and S use a 24.6 inch scale on mahogany, and the Mando 12-String is a chambered electric mandola.

Basses, Lap Steels and the Alliance Series

The Starplayer Bass is the short-scale semi-hollow with two Bassbucker pickups, the Kavalier is a compact medium-scale solid-body, and the Triton is the 34 inch long-scale workhorse. The Fairytale lap steel carries the Multibender bridge system and the Easy-Shift capo, the Split/King edition adds the dual-coil pickups, and the Kalico is the 24 inch scale model. The Alliance Series are the artist instruments: Joe Walsh, Johnny Depp, Mike Campbell, Tom Bukovac, Paul Sidoti, Joey and Dave Landreth, Chris Chaney on bass and Paul Franklin on lap steel.

Pickups, Tremolos and Parts

The factory pickups are sold on their own: Domino P90, GrandVintage, D-Tron, LittleToaster and Crunchbucker humbuckers, and the noiseless SingleTwin Domino and SingleTwin Mini, in bridge and neck versions. The Les Trem II bolts onto the stop-tailpiece studs of any tune-o-matic guitar without drilling, in right and left-handed versions, and the Radiator Tremola is the long-arm vibrato from the current instruments. Tremolo arms, the 3-Point Radius Bridge, the Multibender and its levers, the Tremola adapter kit, the slide bar, string sets, leather 3-Step straps, and the Custom Line cases and gig bags round out the range.
