Combining a classic shape and flamed maple top with all the modern features that artists love, the Kalico the perfect addition to our lineup of Lapsteels.
It comes equipped with a single Split/King Duo-Coil pickup, offering three distinct tones via the 3-way mini toggle, along with the ingenious Duesenberg Multibender and Easy-Shift Capodaster for maximum versatility and expressive playability.
Features
- Duesenberg Multibender: The Duesenberg Multibender Bridge System is a user-configurable tone bending device for harmoic up- and down-bends. It can take up to five levers that can be used to modulate chords and melodies.
- Split/King Pickup: The single Split/King pickup is capable of producing real singlecoil and real humbucker tone. A mode-select toggle switch allows you to select between three unique tonal options.
- Short Scale: The shorter 610mm (24") scale length gives this instrument a noticeably more compact and manageable design, making it easier to handle and play while also coming in a more traditional form.
Integrated Capo System
The built-in Easy-Shift capo makes changing keys on a lap steel effortless.
Simply loosen the top thumbscrew, slide the capo to your desired position on the fretboard, and tighten it again to lock it in place. Guided by an internal rail within the fretboard, the Easy-Shift capo stays securely attached at all times - so it’s always exactly where you need it, never lost or misplaced.
Duesenberg Multibender
The Multibender is a built-in string-bending system that can be configured in a variety of ways to suit your playing style.
It allows you to raise or lower selected strings by a semitone or full tone, all controlled smoothly with the heel of your hand while you play. This opens up expressive possibilities like shifting chords from minor to major and creating a wide range of interval changes on the fly.
The Multibender supports up to five levers (with additional levers available separately), each of which can be individually adjusted to perform different bends and functions.
