Messenger

The Moog Messenger is a 32-key analog monosynth that translates Minimoog DNA into a knob-per-function modern instrument. Two muscular variable-waveshape VCOs with wavefolders, sync, and FM feed an updated Moog ladder filter; on top sit a semi-weighted keybed with velocity and aftertouch, dual looping ADSR envelopes, an arpeggiator/sequencer, and 256 onboard presets — everything a producer or live performer needs for fat leads, evolving pads, and crushing basses.

Sound Engine

Each of the two VCOs covers triangle, sawtooth, square, and continuously variable waveshapes, with built-in wavefolders and sync/FM routes for harmonically rich timbres. A continuously variable sub-oscillator and a dedicated noise generator add weight and texture before the signal hits the filter. Two looping ADSR envelopes drive the VCA and filter — and because they can loop, they double as additional LFOs when needed.

Updated Moog Ladder Filter

Messenger's filter is a redesigned Moog ladder offering true multimode operation — lowpass, highpass, bandpass — with selectable slopes. A new Res Bass mode preserves low end as resonance is increased, sidestepping the classic ladder-filter bass thinning at high Q. Two LFOs and a flexible modulation routing scheme keep filter motion expressive without burning through patch cables.

Performance & Presets

The 32-note keybed is fully velocity- and aftertouch-sensitive, and pitch/mod wheels sit to the left for traditional Moog-style expression. The arpeggiator and sequencer offer fresh programming tools, with parameter-locks per step and chord modes. 256 presets ship organised into 16 banks of 16 — Moog's factory sound design covers leads, basses, pads, FX, and signature Moog tones, and any patch can be overwritten.
