Iconic studio monitors and headphones known for punchy sound and precise imaging.

About KRK

KRK Systems has been building studio monitors in California since 1986. Their yellow-coned drivers are instantly recognizable in home studios and professional facilities worldwide. The brand built its reputation on nearfield monitors that translate mixes reliably across playback systems. KRK's tuning philosophy emphasizes forward midrange and extended low-end response, giving producers clear detail on vocals and bass-heavy material. The Rokit series remains their best-selling line, while the V-Series and Classic lines target different price points and room sizes. Beyond monitors, KRK produces studio headphones and room correction systems designed to work together as a complete monitoring solution.

KRK - Studio Monitor Overview and Technology

Rokit and V-Series Monitors

The Rokit line covers 5-inch, 7-inch, and 8-inch configurations, all featuring KRK's signature Kevlar drivers and front-ported bass reflex design. The Rokit RP5 G4 is the entry point for bedroom producers, while the RP7 and RP8 models handle larger rooms and bass-heavy genres. The V-Series steps up with bi-amped Class D power and DSP-driven room correction via the KRK App. V6 and V8 models include visual EQ displays on the front panel and let you save multiple room profiles. Both lines use waveguides to control dispersion and maintain stereo imaging off-axis.

Classic Series and Subwoofers

The Classic 5 and Classic 7 monitors strip back the DSP features and focus on pure analog signal path. They use soft-dome tweeters instead of the Rokit's metal domes, resulting in a smoother top end that some engineers prefer for long mixing sessions. KRK's subwoofers, including the S8.4 and S10.4 models, extend low-frequency response down to 29 Hz and integrate with any monitor pair via adjustable crossover controls. The subs include room correction modes and phase alignment switches to match your mains.

Headphones and Accessories

KRK's KNS series headphones use the same tuning principles as their monitors. The KNS 6400 and KNS 8400 models feature closed-back designs with replaceable cables and memory foam ear pads. They're built for tracking and mixing when monitor playback isn't an option. KRK also produces isolation pads, monitor stands, and room analysis tools that work with their DSP-equipped monitors. The Ergo room correction system runs as a standalone processor for older monitor models without built-in DSP.
