Description
The Warm Audio WA-C1 is a 100% analog stereo chorus and vibrato pedal inspired by the most celebrated analog chorus circuit in guitar pedal history. It features separated depth and rate controls for the lush chorus mode, expanding beyond the limitations of vintage single-knob designs, while the vibrato section is preserved as authentic to the original. An always-on analog preamp adds bite, depth, and subtle natural compression to the guitar signal even in bypass mode.
The chorus circuit uses a premium Xvive MN3007 Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) chip and Texas Instruments audio op-amps in the signal path for warm, organic modulation. Engaging the rear-panel hi-Z switch raises input impedance from 50k to 1.1M ohms, brightening the tone for passive guitars by adding upper-midrange clarity. This shifts the character from a vintage 1970s-era color to a brighter 1980s-era chorus sound. A high/low input sensitivity switch provides additional headroom and tonal control. The entire circuit is internally powered by a dual DC-DC voltage converter for robust operation from a standard 9V supply.
The vibrato mode delivers rotary-style modulation with adjustable depth and rate, suited for funk, fusion, blues, and jazz tones. A flashing LED on the face plate shows which mode is active and indicates the modulation rate in real time. Mono input with both mono and stereo output operation.
