Description
The Keeley Tube Drive Limited Edition equipped with a 1987 Philips JAN (Joint Army Navy) 12AT7WC military-spec dual-triode tube is an uncompromising, dual-voice overdrive workstation. Operating the internal twin-triode valve at high voltages (exceeding 100V) in Class A configuration, the left side of the pedal functions as a true tube preamp featuring a vintage 5E3 tweed-amp-style tone stack. This delivers authentic, organic compression and harmonic saturation entirely from the glass tube - bypassing the need for standard clipping diodes.
The right side features Keeley’s acclaimed Super Phat Mod (an enhanced JFET-based circuit derived from the classic Blues Driver) to add punch, body, and singing sustain. Players can completely reorder the signal path on the fly via foot gestures or an external remote jack, running the tube into the Phat Mod or vice versa. Housed in a pedalboard-friendly enclosure with top-mounted jacks, it bridges the gap between genuine boutique high-voltage tube tone and versatile modern switching.
