Description
The Heritage Audio HA-81A Elite combines an 80 dB Class A 73-style mic preamp with a four-band 81-style inductor EQ and high/low-pass filters in one Elite Series rack unit. Carnhill St Ives transformers handle the balanced I/O. Rotary switches and concentric pots cover the EQ; the preamp has gain, output trim, 20 dB pad, polarity, and +48V.
81-Style Equalizer
High and low bands switch between shelf and bell. Both mid bands have dual Q and dedicated high-mid / low-mid ranges, for 40 frequency selections across the four bands. That is more surgical than a three-band 73 EQ without giving up inductor tone.
