Description
The Dynaudio Acoustics M3FX is a high-power three-way main monitor for large film and TV post-production studios, where the console sits up to 8 meters from the screen. Four 300 mm MSP woofers, two 170 mm midrange drivers and a D260H soft dome tweeter cover 35 Hz to 20 kHz and reach 125 dB at 2 meters with a stereo pair. With Dynaudio subwoofers and surround speakers, it forms an immersive system for Dolby Atmos Home Entertainment 7.1.4 and 9.1.4 and for full theatrical Atmos.
Drivers and Crossover
The bass section uses four low-distortion MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) woofers with 100 mm ferrofluid-cooled voice coils. The two midrange drivers have 75 mm voice coils and neodymium magnets, and the 28 mm tweeter sits in a short waveguide. A high-power passive crossover inside the cabinet links the midrange and tweeter, and the system is driven as an active two-way, from Dynaudio's DA-series amplifiers with onboard DSP or DCA-series amplifiers with built-in filters.
Versions
Dynaudio builds the M3FX in a left/right version and a wider center version with the same drivers. Both weigh 110 kg. The left/right cabinet measures 1300 x 720 x 600 mm, and the center cabinet measures 1300 x 900 x 515 mm.
