Description
The Dynaudio Delta 80 DSP is a four-channel 2U power amplifier with built-in processing, made for studios and installations that run passive monitors. It delivers 2000 W per channel into 4 ohms, or 4000 W from a bridged pair, with THD below 0.18% at 1 kHz. Onboard EQ, crossovers, delay and limiting handle room tuning and multi-way splits without an outboard processor. Dynaudio names the Delta 80 DSP as an amplifier option for its Dynaudio Acoustics M3FX monitors. This is the 120 V model.
Processing and Control
Each input has eight parametric EQ bands and three bands of dynamic EQ. Each output adds nine more parametric bands, Butterworth, Bessel or Linkwitz-Riley crossover filters up to 48 dB per octave, FIR filtering, up to 650 ms of delay, and program and peak limiters. Settings are edited on the front-panel display, from a computer over USB, Ethernet or RS485, or wirelessly from an iPad with the DeltaDirect app.
Inputs, Outputs and Backup
Four balanced XLR inputs take analog signal, and inputs C and D switch to AES3 digital with a stereo pair on each, so an analog feed can stay patched as a fallback. Four auxiliary XLR outputs run their own processing channels and can drive a non-DSP Delta amplifier for a stereo four-way system. An optional Dante card adds four network inputs and four network outputs. Speaker backup inputs on the rear panel connect a redundant backup amplifier.
Features
- Four channels, 2000 W per channel into 4 ohms
- Channel pairs 1+2 and 3+4 bridge for 4000 W into 4 ohms
- 8 parametric and 3 dynamic EQ bands per input
- 9 parametric EQ bands, crossover filters, FIR filtering, delay and limiters per output
- Four independently processed auxiliary XLR outputs
- Analog XLR inputs, with inputs C and D switchable to AES3
- Optional Dante card with four network inputs and four network outputs
- Control from the front panel, USB, Ethernet, RS485, AudioCore software and the DeltaDirect iPad app
- GPIO port with two inputs and two outputs for memory recall, standby, mutes and level control
- Settings stored as memories, with a password-protected front-panel lock
- Speaker backup inputs for a redundant backup amplifier
- Standby mode powers down the amplifier channels and keeps the DSP running
