Description
The Dynaudio Delta 40 is a four-channel 2U power amplifier for studios and installations that handle processing elsewhere and need clean power for passive monitors. It delivers 1000 W per channel into 4 ohms, or 2400 W from a bridged pair, with THD below 0.18% at 1 kHz. Setup stays simple, with four balanced XLR inputs, a level control for each channel on the front panel and speakON outputs on the back. This is the 120 V model.
Working with Delta DSP
The Delta 40 has no onboard processing of its own. A Delta DSP amplifier can feed it processed signal from its four auxiliary outputs, so one DSP model runs crossovers and EQ for a stereo four-way system. With the optional Dante card fitted, a rear-panel switch moves all four channels from the XLR inputs to the network, with 24-bit/96 kHz conversion.
Protection and Backup
Every channel has a limiter, and the amplifier protects itself and the speakers against short circuits, DC and overheating. Depending on the fault, protection mutes all four channels or one channel pair. A short circuit on an output mutes only its own pair, 1+2 or 3+4, and the other two channels keep playing. Speaker backup inputs connect a second amplifier that switches into circuit if the main one loses power or goes into protection.
