About UVI

UVI is a Paris-based developer that has been building virtual instruments and sample libraries since 1986. The company is known for Falcon, a hybrid instrument that combines sampling, granular synthesis, FM, wavetable, additive synthesis, and physical modeling in a single environment. Falcon offers sixteen synthesis types and more than ninety effects, giving you a modular sound design platform that goes well beyond sample playback. UVI also develops curated soundware collections like World Suite and Key Suite, which run in the free UVI Workstation player. The company collaborates with IRCAM on research-derived modules, including IRCAM Multi Granular and IRCAM Prepared Piano.

Falcon and the UVI Engine

Falcon is the centerpiece of UVI's catalog. It is a multi-synthesis instrument that lets you layer samplers, oscillators, and effects into complex patches. UVI develops large-scale sample libraries that cover acoustic instruments, vintage synths, and world music collections. World Suite 3 includes instruments from across the globe. Key Suite bundles pianos, electric pianos, and keyboard instruments. The Vintage Vault series focuses on classic synthesizers. These libraries run in UVI Workstation, a free player that gives you access to UVI's soundware without needing Falcon. The libraries are recorded and scripted to work within the UVI Engine, so you get the same modulation and effects architecture across all of them. Ravenscroft 275 is a deeply sampled concert grand piano. BeatHawk is a beat production instrument with sampling and sequencing built in.

Effects and Specialized Tools

UVI makes standalone effects plugins alongside its instruments. Xtreme FX 2 is a multi-effect processor with modulation and routing options. Sparkverb is a reverb plugin. Thorus is a chorus and flanger. Relayer handles delay and echo effects. Drum Replacer is a tool for replacing or augmenting drum hits in a mix, useful for reinforcing live recordings or fixing weak samples. Prisma, released in 2025, is a production suite aimed at electronic music workflows. Rumble is a multiband bass synthesizer designed for low-end sound design. These tools use the same UVI Engine architecture, so the interface and workflow stay consistent across the lineup.
