About Outlaw Effects

Outlaw Effects builds guitar pedals and pedal power around one idea: the classic circuits players actually use, at a price that does not need a second thought. The range covers overdrive, distortion, fuzz, delay, reverb, modulation, a tuner, a looper, an ABY box and power supplies. Every pedal is compact and runs on standard 9V centre-negative power. In Canada they come through SFM, so orders ship quickly and warranty is handled locally.

Overdrive, Distortion and Fuzz

This is the heart of the line. The Cactus Juice is a two-mode screamer-style overdrive, the Dead Man's Hand a two-mode overdrive with more gain on tap, the Hangman a transparent drive that pushes a clean amp into breakup, and the Dumbleweed a D-style amp overdrive. For heavier sounds there is the Deputy Marshal (plexi-style), the Lock, Stock and Barrel (three-mode distortion), the Widow Maker (metal-style) and the Snitch (ratty-style). Fuzz comes two ways: the Five O'Clock Fuzz and the germanium The General. At this price you can stack two and pick the combination you like.

Delay, Reverb and Modulation

The Quick Draw is a straightforward delay, the Eldorado a three-mode echo, and the 24K a three-mode reverb with room, plate and spring voices. On the modulation side the Vigilante is a chorus, the Phunnel Cloud a two-mode phaser, the Rocker Box a two-mode tremolo and the Late Riser an auto volume swell. The Wrangler is a two-mode compressor for evening out picking and adding sustain. All of them use simple knob layouts, so there is nothing to read before you plug in.

Utility, Tuning and Looping

The Six Shooter II is a pedal tuner, the Iron Horse combines a tuner with a power supply, the Lasso Looper records and layers phrases, and The Wye is an ABY switcher for running two amps or two signal paths. Small pedals, big board space saved.

Power Supplies

The Kerosene is a miniature multi-output power supply for a full board. For smaller setups the Outlaw 9V PSU powers one pedal, and the 9V Daisy Chain cable spreads that one supply across up to five pedals with right-angle connectors. Check each pedal's current draw before chaining, and you are set.
