About Marshall

Marshall Amplification has defined rock guitar tone since 1962. Founded in London by Jim Marshall, the brand became synonymous with the British Invasion sound and every hard rock movement that followed. Marshall amps are built around high-gain tube circuits that push midrange frequencies forward, creating the aggressive, cutting tone heard on stages and records worldwide. The company's signature look, black Levant covering, gold piping, white script logo, is as iconic as the sound itself. Marshall's lineup spans handwired reissues of vintage circuits, modern high-gain heads, and digital modeling amps that bring classic tones to smaller stages and home studios.

Tube Amp Heads

Marshall's tube heads are the foundation of the brand. The 1959HW Handwired delivers 100 watts of pure Plexi tone with point-to-point wiring and vintage-spec transformers. The JCM800 Modified brings tight low end and aggressive gain to metal and hard rock players. The Silver Jubilee 2555X reissue captures the mid-scooped, harmonically rich sound of the 1987 original. These heads require matching speaker cabinets and reward players who know how to work volume and gain together. If you need a specific Marshall sound, there's a head circuit built for it.

Speaker Cabinets

Marshall cabinets are voiced to complement the brand's amp heads. The 1960A and 1960B 4x12 cabs, angled and straight respectively, are studio and stage standards, loaded with Celestion G12T-75 speakers that handle 300 watts and deliver punchy mids with controlled highs. The 1960AV and 1960BV use Celestion Vintage 30s for a warmer, more compressed response. Smaller 2x12 options like the 1936 offer similar tone in a more portable format. Impedance matching matters here; pair your head and cab correctly or risk damaging both.

Combo Amps

Marshall's combo amps put head and speaker in one unit. The 1962 Bluesbreaker reissue is a 30-watt 2x12 combo that nails the creamy overdrive Eric Clapton used on the John Mayall album. The Studio Jubilee 2525C scales down the Silver Jubilee circuit to 20 watts with a single 12-inch speaker, making it usable at bedroom volumes without losing character. The CODE series brings digital modeling to Marshall's combo format, offering amp simulations, effects, and Bluetooth editing for players who need versatility over a single signature tone.
