ADAM Audio Sub8 Pro and Sub10 Pro: Studio Subwoofers You Tune From the Mix Position (2026)
The ADAM Audio Sub8 Pro is $1,379 CAD and the Sub10 Pro is $1,729 CAD. They are studio subwoofers for home and professional rooms, built for people who want to tune the low end from the mix position. Phase, delay and EQ are set over the network in ADAM's free ADAM Control software, so you hear each change from the chair you mix in.
Tuning from the mix position
Setting up a subwoofer usually means reaching behind it, turning a knob, walking back to your chair and listening again. The Pro subwoofers connect to your network over Ethernet, and ADAM Control takes over from there. The software runs on Windows and macOS and is a free download from ADAM Audio.
Inside it you get time alignment and four bands of parametric EQ for the subwoofer. ADAM Control replaces the older A Control software, so it also manages A Series monitors, and you can adjust several monitors and subwoofers on one screen. Firmware updates arrive through the same software.
Sonarworks calibration on board
Both subwoofers can host a Sonarworks SoundID Reference calibration on their own DSP. You measure the room with SoundID Reference and a measurement mic, then load the profile onto the subwoofer through ADAM Control. The correction runs on the subwoofer itself. ADAM's A Series monitors take the same profiles, so an A Series system with a Pro subwoofer can be calibrated together. SoundID Reference and the microphone are not included.
Connections and bass management
Analog signal comes in on two XLR/TRS combo jacks and leaves on two XLR outputs. There is also an AES3 digital input and output on XLR, good for up to 24-bit/96 kHz, if you would rather keep the signal digital on its way to the subwoofer.
The bass management crossover can be set to 70, 85, 100 or 115 Hz, and phase moves in 45-degree steps. A footswitch input bypasses bass management, so you can switch the crossover out and back in while you listen. The footswitch is not in the box.
Stereo, LFE and Wide modes
Stereo mode is for conventional use with a pair of monitors. LFE mode is for Dolby Atmos rooms and applies a 120 Hz cutoff that follows Dolby's advice for LFE channels. Wide mode lets the subwoofer play full range, for systems where bass management happens somewhere else in the chain.
Sub8 Pro or Sub10 Pro
The two share the same amplifier power, DSP, backplate and software. What changes is the woofer, how low it reaches and how much floor it takes up.
| Sub8 Pro | Sub10 Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Woofer | 8" | 10" |
| Low end (-3 dB) | 30 Hz | 22 Hz |
| Amplifier | 200 W | 200 W |
| Size (H x W x D) | 385 x 300 x 365 mm | 450 x 360 x 450 mm |
| Weight | 15.3 kg | 22.8 kg |
| Price | $1,379 CAD | $1,729 CAD |
ADAM positions the Sub8 Pro as the foundation for compact monitoring systems. It is 30 cm wide, and the steel grille protects the woofer if the cabinet goes under your desk. The Sub10 Pro reaches 8 Hz lower for $350 more, which matters for film and game work, bass-heavy music and LFE channels. It is also 45 cm deep and 7.5 kg heavier, so measure the spot before you order.
A Series monitors to pair them with
Both Pro subwoofers were designed to complement ADAM's A Series monitors, which take the same Sonarworks profiles and appear in ADAM Control next to the subwoofer.
The A4V is the 4-inch nearfield and the A44H is the low-profile dual 4-inch model, both sized for the compact systems the Sub8 Pro was made for. The A77H is a dual 7-inch three-way midfield for bigger rooms.
