Warm Audio WA-14 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone Stereo Pair

The Warm Audio WA-14 SP is a matched stereo pair of WA-14 large-diaphragm condenser microphones, each built around an all-brass CK12-style capsule and CineMag USA output transformer. The two microphones are sequential-serial matched to within +/-1 dB of each other for consistent stereo imaging on drum overheads, piano, acoustic guitar pairs, orchestral sessions, and room recordings. Each mic offers three switchable polar patterns and a variable pad (0, -10, -20 dB).

Sequential-serial matching means the two microphones are pulled from the same production run and tested together to ensure their frequency response and sensitivity track within tight tolerances. This consistency is critical for stereo recording, where even small differences between microphones can blur the stereo image and shift the perceived center. The included stereo mounting bar simplifies setup for XY and ORTF configurations on a single stand.

Each WA-14 in the pair uses the same CK12-style capsule, CineMag USA transformer, and fully discrete signal path as the single version. The three-position pad (0, -10, -20 dB) handles SPLs up to 150 dB, making the pair well suited for close-miked drum overheads and live piano recording where peak levels can be high.
