Warm Audio Tube Squealer Three-Mode Overdrive Pedal

The Warm Audio Tube Squealer recreates three classic Japanese soft-clipping overdrive circuits in a single pedal: the 808, TS9, and TS10. Each mode switches the internal circuitry to deliver the authentic voicing of the original design, not a simple re-EQ.

The Tube Squealer has three distinct signal paths. The 808 and TS10 share the same JRC4558-based drive stage, with the TS10 adding an extra resistor to match its original circuit for silky, sparkly overdrive. The TS9 uses its own drive stage built around a JRC4580 op-amp for the focused, compressed punch that defined 1980s rock tone. All three modes share a common JRC4558 tone stage. The Mix knob blends clean signal with the driven output, a popular modification that preserves low-end definition and pick attack. The Pickup Voicing switch shifts the midrange emphasis at approximately 800 Hz to better suit humbuckers (lower-mid focus) or single-coils (upper-mid clarity). An external voltage doubler raises headroom from 9V to 18V for cleaner boost tones and wider dynamics before saturation. A rear-mounted switch selects true or buffered bypass.
