Description
The Warm Audio Throne of Tone is a dual-sided overdrive pedal that combines two British amp-inspired circuits in one enclosure. Each side offers two classic voicings, selectable low/high gain levels, and three drive modes for a wide range of breakup tones from subtle edge-of-breakup to saturated lead.
The Blues voicing uses TL072 op-amps and is voiced to emulate the breakup character of a classic British combo amplifier, delivering bite, clarity, and dynamic response. The King voicing uses JRC4580 op-amps for a smoother, more polished tone inspired by later boutique interpretations of the same circuit. Each side uses two op-amp stages per channel with diode clipping: diodes in the feedback path of the second stage and separate diodes to ground create the three drive modes. Boost provides the most clean headroom, breaking up later for transparent gain stacking. Overdrive delivers classic mid-gain textures with natural compression. Distortion engages full saturation for sustained lead tones. The Presence control shifts an internal filter from 500 Hz to 2.3 kHz for precise upper-mid shaping per side. An FX order swap and unbalanced send/return jacks let you insert another pedal between the two circuits.
