Description
The Warm Audio WA-47 (Titanium) is a limited-edition finish of the WA-47 large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone, an authentic reproduction of the classic U47. The WA-47 uses a custom K47-style dual-diaphragm capsule, a JJ 5751 vacuum tube, and a TAB-Funkenwerk (AMI) USA output transformer to deliver deep bass, rich midrange, and smooth highs. Nine polar patterns selectable from the external power supply provide versatility from close-up vocal recording to distant room capture. This titanium-style finish version is functionally identical to the standard WA-47.
The JJ 5751 is a low-gain, low-noise tube that allows more of the capsule and transformer character to come through in the signal, giving the WA-47 the unmistakable tonal signature of a vintage 47-style microphone without modern coloration. The K47-style capsule (WA-47-B-80V) is manufactured in Australia with the same hole pattern and frequency response profile as the original, using 6-micron gold-sputtered NOS Mylar diaphragms. Nine polar patterns, selected from the external power supply, span cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 with six intermediate positions for precise room interaction control.
The WA-47 circuit uses WIMA film capacitors, an imported Solen French capacitor on the output, and a polystyrene coupling capacitor. The 5-meter Gotham GAC-7 cable connecting the microphone to its power supply uses premium seven-conductor construction for reliable signal transfer.
