Description
The Warm Audio WA-47F is a large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone modeled after the classic 47-style FET mic first released in 1969. Replacing the tube circuit with solid-state FET electronics, the WA-47F delivers a pristine top end and tight, controllable bass while handling fast transients and high SPLs. A gold-sputtered K47-style capsule is paired with a custom TAB-Funkenwerk (AMI) USA output transformer, premium Fairchild FETs, and Wima and polystyrene capacitors for a studio-ready sound on vocals, kick drums, guitar cabinets, and any source that demands detail at higher volumes.
Where tube 47-style microphones are prized for warmth and harmonic richness, the FET version trades that tube saturation for faster transient response and a tighter low end. This makes the WA-47F a strong choice on kick drum, where it captures the initial attack and the sustained body of each hit with clarity. On guitar cabinets, the K47-style capsule and AMI transformer deliver present midrange and controlled bass even at high monitoring levels. The -10 dB pad extends SPL handling to 147 dB, and the 140 Hz high-pass filter cleans up low-frequency rumble before the signal reaches the preamp.
