Description
The Waldorf Streichfett is a desktop polyphonic string synthesizer that recreates the layered string-machine character of the 1970s and early 1980s. A fully polyphonic strings section sits beside an eight-voice solo section so you can blend creamy pads with the shimmering, slightly percussive companion tones those instruments were known for.
Strings and solo
The Ensemble effect thickens the string section. Phaser and reverb live in a dedicated effects area. Animate modulates string registration for sweeping morphs across violin, viola, cello, and related mixes. Solo registrations labeled Bass, E-Piano, or Clavi are classic string-machine sidekicks more than literal instrument emulations.
Simple panel, deep engine
The front panel stays easy to read while the engine underneath can produce rich pads that sit differently from a typical VA synth. Twelve memory slots store favorites; MIDI and USB handle sequencing and computer connection.
