Description
The Universal Audio Apollo e1x is a single-channel mic and line preamp for Dante audio networks, powered over Ethernet and controlled remotely from UAD Console. Paired with an Apollo x16D, it becomes a Unison preamp that takes on the sound and behavior of classic preamps from API, Avalon, Manley, Neve, SSL and others. On its own it works on any Dante network as a transparent remote preamp for stage racks, front-of-house measurement mics or a lectern.
Unison with Apollo x16D
Routed to an Apollo x16D, each Apollo e1x runs the full library of UAD-2 Unison preamp plug-ins, which change impedance and gain staging to match the original hardware. Assistive Auto-Gain sets input levels for you. One Apollo x16D supports up to 16 Apollo e1x units, depending on available DSP, and four Apollo x16Ds support up to 64.
Mounting and Power
A 5/8" thread on the bottom fits any mic stand or clamp, and the unit also sits on a table on rubber feet. The included coupling bracket joins units side by side, up to eight in about the space of one rack unit. Power comes from a PoE (802.3af) network switch or a PoE injector over Cat5e or Cat6 cable.
