Description
The Universal Audio Sphere LX is a dual-capsule large-diaphragm modeling condenser microphone system with the Sphere Mic Collection software. It models 20 classic ribbon, condenser, and dynamic microphones so you can change mic type, polar pattern, proximity, and IsoSphere room-correction settings during or after tracking. Modeling requires two mic preamp channels; the mic can also be used as a single-output condenser on one preamp without modeling.
Modeling and Workflow
Sphere LX software (AU / VST / AAX) and Apollo realtime support let you audition models from Neumann-, Telefunken-, AKG-, Sony-, and Shure-style classics (as offered in the LX collection) without swapping hardware. Dual gold-sputtered diaphragms feed dual outputs that preserve directional and distance information for off-axis correction and pattern control.
