Tascam SS-R250N 1U Rackmount SD/USB Recorder/Player with Networking and Dante Support

The Tascam SS-R250N is a 1U rackmount two-channel solid-state recorder/player with Ethernet networking and optional Dante connectivity. Recording and playing from dual SD card slots and a front-panel USB port, the SS-R250N combines extensive I/O, FTP file management, event scheduling, and remote control for broadcast, installation, government, house-of-worship, and commercial AV applications.

Recording and Playback

Record in WAV (up to 96 kHz/24-bit) or MP3 formats to SD cards (up to 128 GB SDXC) or USB flash drives (up to 128 GB). Dual SD card slots support mirror recording for real-time backup and relay recording for automatic switchover. Auto Cue, Auto Ready, Incremental Play, pitch and key control, ducking, and A-B repeat provide flexible playback for any scenario.

Network Features

The FTP client enables automatic upload of recorded files to a server and download of audio files for scheduled playback. An Event List function automates recording, playback, and downloads on a timed schedule. SNTP keeps the internal clock accurate. Free iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac control apps manage transport and settings from any networked device. Q-SYS integration is available with firmware V2.15 or later.

Audio I/O

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog inputs and outputs support professional and consumer audio routing. AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital I/O handle sample rates up to 96 kHz. Dual rear-panel XLR mic inputs with +48V phantom power and an integrated ducking circuit serve paging and announcement needs. The optional IF-DA2 card adds Dante 2-channel in/out for network audio integration.
