Tascam SS-CDR250N 1U Rackmount CD/SD/USB Recorder/Player with Networking

The Tascam SS-CDR250N is a 1U rackmount two-channel recorder/player that records and plays back from CD-R/CD-RW, dual SD card slots, and USB flash drives. An Ethernet port enables FTP file transfer, SNTP time synchronization, Telnet control, and app-based remote operation, making the SS-CDR250N a comprehensive recording and playback solution for broadcast, installation, PA, government, and commercial AV applications.

Recording and Playback

Record in WAV (up to 96 kHz/24-bit) or MP3 formats to SD cards (up to 128 GB SDXC), USB flash drives (up to 128 GB), or CD-R/CD-RW media. Dual SD card slots support mirror recording (simultaneous backup) and relay recording (automatic switchover when one card is full). Auto Cue, Auto Ready, Incremental Play, pitch control, key control, and A-B repeat cover a wide range of playback needs.

Network Features

The FTP client uploads recorded files automatically to a server or downloads audio files for scheduled playback. An Event List function automates recording, playback, and file downloads on a time-based schedule. SNTP synchronization keeps the internal clock accurate for time-critical events. Free iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac control apps provide transport and setting control from any device on the same network.

Audio I/O

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog inputs and outputs connect to professional and consumer gear. AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital I/O support sample rates up to 96 kHz. Rear-panel XLR mic inputs with +48V phantom power and a ducking function support paging and announcement applications. The optional IF-DA2 card adds Dante network audio (2-channel in/out). Q-SYS integration is available with firmware V2.15 or later.
