Description
The Tascam Series 102i is a 10-in/2-out USB audio and MIDI interface built for studio, home, and live recording. Two Ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) mic preamps deliver transparent, ultra-low-noise performance with an EIN of -129 dBu, while an S/MUX optical input adds up to eight channels of expansion for a total of ten inputs. The interface records and plays back at up to 24-bit/192 kHz resolution over USB 2.0.
Preamps and Inputs
The front panel provides two combo XLR/TRS inputs switchable between mic/line and instrument (Hi-Z) modes, each with independent +48V phantom power. The rear-panel optical S/MUX port accepts up to eight additional channels from any ADAT- or S/MUX-compatible preamp or converter, letting you scale the system as your needs grow.
Built-In DSP and Software Control
An onboard DSP mixer with digital reverb, compressor, phase invert, and 4-band EQ processes each channel internally, eliminating latency and reducing the load on your computer. The free Tascam Control software (Settings Panel) manages faders, routing, and effects from a single interface, letting you route any analog, optical, or USB input to any output.
Monitoring and Outputs
Two 1/4" TRS balanced line outputs feed your monitors, and a large front-panel Monitor knob provides quick level adjustment. A Monitor Balance control mixes live input with computer playback for zero-latency monitoring. Two independent headphone outputs with their own level controls support simultaneous monitoring for two performers.
