Tascam SB-16D 16-In/16-Out Dante Stage Box

The Tascam SB-16D is a 16-in/16-out Dante stage box with Class 1 HDIA mic preamps and 32-bit analog-to-digital converters. Designed for live sound, broadcast, and permanent installations, it provides high-quality analog I/O for Dante networks and integrates seamlessly with Tascam Sonicview digital mixing consoles.

Class 1 HDIA Mic Preamps

Each of the 16 mic/line inputs feeds a Tascam Class 1 HDIA (High Definition Instrumentation Architecture) preamp, the same design used in Sonicview recording mixers. The instrumentation amplifier first stage delivers an equivalent input noise of -128 dBu with a maximum input level of +32 dBu, providing substantial headroom. Each channel includes +48V phantom power and a SIG/OL LED for input monitoring.

Sonicview Integration

When connected to a Tascam Sonicview 16XP or 24XP, the SB-16D provides remote mic gain control directly from the console. All I/O appears on the Sonicview VIEW touch screens. GPIO expands from 8-in/8-out to 16-in/16-out when paired with a Sonicview mixer.

Dante Networking with Redundancy

Two etherCON-compatible Dante ports support redundant streams with automatic failover. The SB-16D supports up to 64 Dante channels at 48 kHz or 32 channels at 96 kHz. Multiple stage boxes can be networked for expanded I/O. Dante Domain Manager, AES67, and SMPTE ST 2110 interoperability are supported.

Flexible Floor and Rack Deployment

The SB-16D works as a floor stage box with large rubber feet for stability, or rack-mounts in 3U with the included brackets (two angle options). A carrying handle and stackable design simplify transport and setup. A cable routing hole keeps rear connections tidy when rack mounted. A DC power input supports an optional redundant power supply.

Remote Control

The free TASCAM IO Control software (macOS, Windows, iPadOS) provides full remote control and offline editing, even when the SB-16D is used in standalone mode without a Sonicview console.
