Tascam Portacapture X6 32-Bit Float 6-Channel Multitrack Field Recorder

The Tascam Portacapture X6 is a 6-channel 32-bit float portable field recorder with a 2.4-inch color touchscreen, built-in stereo condenser microphones, and two XLR/TRS inputs with HDDA preamps. Its app-like Launcher interface provides quick-start presets for podcasting, music, interviews, field recording, and 6-track multitrack recording, letting you start capturing professional audio in seconds.

32-Bit Float Recording

Dual A/D converters with 32-bit float recording at up to 96 kHz deliver a wide dynamic range that forgives imperfect level settings. Audio recorded too quietly can be boosted without noise penalties, and signals that exceed 0 dBFS remain clean and usable.

Built-In Stereo Microphones

The internal high-quality condenser microphones rotate between A-B and true X-Y configurations, allowing you to quickly switch between wide spatial recording and focused, phase-coherent stereo capture for dialogue or solo instruments.

Touchscreen Launcher System

The 2.4-inch color touchscreen provides an intuitive, app-like interface. The Launcher offers optimized recording presets so you can select your application and begin recording with minimal setup. Settings and adjustments are accessible with a few taps.

Inputs and Outputs

Two XLR/TRS combo inputs with HDDA preamps (EIN -126 dBu) and selectable phantom power accept professional microphones and line sources. A 3.5mm EXT input with plug-in power connects wireless receivers and lavalier mics. Outputs include a 3.5mm line output and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

USB-C Audio Interface

Functions as a 6-in/2-out USB-C audio interface (24-bit, 32-bit float from firmware v1.10) for direct recording to DAW software, live streaming, or video conferencing. Internal recording can run simultaneously with USB streaming.

Wireless Control and Timecode

With the optional AK-BT1 Bluetooth adapter, the Portacapture X6 supports wireless timecode synchronization and remote control via the free TASCAM Recorder Connect app.
