Description
The Tascam MX-8A is a 1U rackmount matrix mixer with 8 mic/line inputs, 8 line outputs, and comprehensive built-in DSP. Designed for commercial installations in meeting rooms, restaurants, hotels, retail spaces, and conference environments, it provides flexible matrix routing of any input to any output zone, combined with per-channel audio processing including compression, parametric EQ, auto-leveling, ducking, and more.
DSP Processing
Input channels feature a full processing chain: compressor, 4-band parametric EQ, auto-level control, ducking, and noise gate. Output channels provide 10-band EQ, high-pass filter, low-pass filter, delay (up to 300 ms), and limiter. The internal matrix mixer allows any combination of inputs to be routed to any combination of outputs with individual level control per crosspoint.
Control and Integration
Remote setup and control is available via Ethernet (TCP/IP, 100BASE-TX), RS-232C (D-sub 9-pin), or RS-485 (RJ-45) for integration with third-party control systems like Crestron or AMX. A front-panel USB port enables direct computer connection for setup software, firmware updates, and 2-channel USB audio playback. Status LEDs on the front panel provide at-a-glance system monitoring.
