The Tascam MP-800U is a 1U rackmount SD/USB media player with a built-in FM tuner, USB DAC, and optional Bluetooth streaming. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, a front-panel USB-C DAC input, and support for SD/SDHC/SDXC cards up to 512 GB make it a versatile playback hub for restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, houses of worship, and other professional audio environments.

Versatile Playback Sources

The MP-800U plays WAV, MP3, and AAC files from SD cards and USB flash drives up to 512 GB. A front-panel USB-C port functions as a USB DAC, letting you connect laptops, smartphones, and tablets for direct digital audio playback. The built-in FM tuner offers up to 20 channel presets, with a dedicated unbalanced RCA tuner output for independent routing. Bluetooth audio is available via the optional AK-BT2 adapter.

Professional Playback Controls

Front-panel features include ten number keys for direct track selection, a multi-jog knob, and transport controls. Power-on Play, Auto Cue, Auto Ready, Incremental Play, fade-in/fade-out, and +/-16% pitch control cover a wide range of installation and performance scenarios. Key Original mode changes playback speed without altering pitch. Panel lock prevents accidental operation.

Outputs and Control

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs each have independent level controls. A 1/4" headphone output with its own level control is on the front panel. The rear-panel CONTROL I/O ports support fader start/stop integration with mixers. The optional IF-E100 Ethernet card enables Telnet control and Q-SYS integration. The optional RC-20 controller provides direct playback of up to 20 tracks.
