Description
The Tascam Model 16 is a 14-channel analog mixing console with a built-in 16-track multitrack recorder, 16-in/14-out USB audio interface, digital effects, and Bluetooth wireless input. Designed for live sound, rehearsal, studio recording, and houses of worship, the Model 16 combines hands-on analog mixing with powerful digital recording in a single compact console.
Mixer
Fourteen input channels with 60mm faders provide complete control. Channels 1-8 feature Tascam Ultra HDDA mic preamps with individually switchable +48V phantom power, a single-knob compressor, and 3-band EQ with sweepable mid. Channels 1-2 include Hi-Z instrument inputs and insert points. A Bluetooth 5.0 stereo input (with selectable RCA and 3.5mm mini jack) lets you stream audio wirelessly from any device. A three-position input selector (Live/PC/MTR) on each channel enables instant source switching between live inputs, computer playback, and recorder tracks.
Multitrack Recorder
The internal 16-track recorder captures 14 input channels plus the stereo mix simultaneously in WAV format at up to 48 kHz/24-bit to SD, SDHC, or SDXC cards up to 512 GB. Overdubbing, punch-in/out (up to 8 tracks simultaneously), and track export are supported for flexible production workflows.
USB Audio Interface
The Model 16 operates as a 16-in/14-out USB audio interface, allowing direct integration with any DAW on Windows, macOS, or iOS/iPadOS. Route recorded tracks back through the console for analog summing and hands-on mixing with genuine analog character.
