Description
The Tascam Mixcast 4 is a dedicated podcast production station that combines a multi-channel mixer, 14-track multitrack recorder, USB audio interface, sound pad controller, and 5-inch color touchscreen in one easy-to-use device. Accommodating up to 4 in-person participants plus 3 remote guests (via Bluetooth, USB, or TRRS), the Mixcast 4 handles recording, mixing, streaming, and sound effects without complicated setup or external software.
Mixing and Inputs
Four XLR/TRS combo mic inputs with individually switchable +48V phantom power connect dynamic or condenser microphones. An Auto Mixer function keeps output levels uniform across all participants. USB audio, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm TRRS input bring in remote callers and external audio, with Mix-Minus on each return path to prevent echo. Balanced 1/4" TRS line inputs accept additional stereo sources.
Recording and Sound Pads
Record up to 14 tracks (12 discrete inputs plus stereo mix) simultaneously in 48 kHz/24-bit WAV format directly to SD cards up to 512 GB. Eight large illuminated sound pads with 8 banks (64 sounds total) trigger jingles, sound effects, and music beds instantly. The included Tascam Podcast Editor software provides waveform editing, sound pad assignment, and remote track arming.
Interface and Monitoring
A 14-in/2-out USB audio interface (USB Audio Class 2.0, class-compliant) enables direct DAW recording or live streaming from any computer. Four independent headphone outputs with individual volume controls keep every participant comfortable. Balanced 1/4" TRS monitor outputs and a 3.5mm line output connect studio monitors or camera inputs.
