Description

The Tascam IF-AE16 is a 16-in/16-out AES/EBU interface card for the Tascam expansion slot system. It adds AES/EBU digital audio connectivity to compatible host devices including the DA-6400/DA-6400dp multitrack recorders and the Sonicview 16XP/24XP digital mixing consoles.

16-Channel AES/EBU Interface

The IF-AE16 provides 16 channels of AES/EBU input and output at 44.1/48 kHz or 16 channels in double-speed mode at 88.2/96 kHz. Two D-Sub 25-pin connectors carry channels 1-8 and 9-16 using pin assignments compliant with AES59-2012.

Built-In Sampling Rate Converter

Each input pair has an independent sampling rate converter that accepts AES/EBU sources from 32 kHz to 192 kHz when enabled. This allows the host device to record from multiple AES/EBU sources running at different sample rates. S/PDIF data format is also detected automatically on the input.
