Description
The Tascam CG-2000 is a high-precision master clock generator designed for broadcasting, post production, and large-scale audio/video synchronization systems. Built around an oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) with frequency accuracy of +/-0.01 ppm and daily stability of +/-0.005 ppm, it provides rock-solid clocking for professional environments where timing precision is critical.
Clock Outputs
Twelve BNC word clock outputs (two supporting x2Fs, x4Fs, 256Fs, and Super Clock for DAW systems like Pro Tools), four video outputs, two AES3/AES11 outputs, and two S/PDIF outputs enable synchronization of large-scale audio and video systems. Supported word clock frequencies range from 32 kHz to 192 kHz with pull-up/pull-down support at 48/96/192 kHz.
External Reference and Jitter Management
Two BNC calibration inputs accept 10 MHz signals from rubidium clocks or GPS references for even greater long-term accuracy. An original Tascam circuit design incorporating a high-performance FPGA video clock generator and PLL with discrete filter reduces external clock jitter, delivering a stable output signal. A glitch-free relock circuit prevents noise and audio dropouts caused by master clock interruptions.
Monitoring and Maintenance
A built-in analyzer function measures output device termination to verify proper system configuration. Alarm outputs (Euroblock) provide real-time system status monitoring. USB connectivity enables firmware updates and configuration via a flash drive.
