Description
The Tascam CD-400U is a 1U rackmount media player that brings together CD, SD card, USB flash drive, Bluetooth, and AM/FM radio playback in a single professional unit. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, RS-232C control, and an optional Ethernet card make the CD-400U an ideal playback source for system integrators, houses of worship, restaurants, retail stores, and educational facilities.
Multi-Source Playback
The CD drive plays standard CD-DA discs and data CDs. SD/SDHC cards and USB flash drives support MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV file playback. The built-in Bluetooth 4.2 receiver streams audio from smartphones and tablets using aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs. An AM/FM tuner with 40 presets (20 FM + 20 AM) provides broadcast radio, and a dedicated tuner RCA output lets you route radio independently from other sources.
Recording and Dubbing
Audio from CDs or the AM/FM tuner can be recorded directly to USB flash drives or SD/SDHC cards in MP3 format without a computer. A front-panel 3.5mm aux input connects portable audio devices.
Professional Control
Power-on Play automatically starts playback at startup, and Incremental Play skips to the next track on each press for presentation use. Panel lock prevents accidental changes. An RS-232C port provides serial control, and Q-SYS integration is available via the optional IF-E100 Ethernet card.
