Description
The Tascam 424-S is a genuine high-bias Type II cobalt oxide cassette tape engineered for outstanding output, low distortion, and unmatched clarity in Tascam Portastudio cassette recorders. With high coercivity (540 Oe) for superior storage capacity and nearly double the retentivity (1,700 Gauss) of standard cassettes, the 424-S produces audio output 4 dB louder than the industry standard, making it ideal for multitrack recording and mastering applications. The tape formulation was engineered and tested specifically in restored, vintage Tascam Portastudio units. The 424-S has the same specifications as the Master 424 Studio Cassette but without the gold collector reels.
