Description
The SM57 is the industry-standard dynamic instrument microphone found on stages and in studios worldwide. Its contoured frequency response with a bright midrange presence rise makes it the first choice for snare drums, guitar cabinets, brass, woodwinds, and countless other instruments. The SM57 has served as the lectern microphone for U.S. presidential addresses since 1965.
Performance
- Bright, contoured midrange: Presence peak between 5-10 kHz cuts through a live mix and adds clarity to instrument recordings
- Extremely high SPL handling: Captures guitar amplifiers, snare drums, and brass at full volume without distortion
- Tight cardioid pattern: Isolates the target instrument from surrounding sources on crowded stages
- Pneumatic shock mount: Minimizes handling noise and stage vibration
