Description
The STC-3M4 is the 4-knob version of the Seymour Duncan Music Man tone circuit, designed for StingRay basses. It also works in any bass with one passive pickup and room for four knobs. Pair it with Seymour Duncan Music Man replacement pickups for a complete setup.
It has separate bass, treble and midrange controls and a master volume. The lows are deep and tight, the mids range from smooth to punchy, and the treble is bright without being brittle. Pull up the volume knob to engage the Slap Switch, an EQ contour voiced for slap playing, and set that contour with the two small trim pots on the circuit board. It runs on a single 9V battery, and two 9V batteries can be wired in series for more headroom. It is made for a standard 2-coil Music Man style pickup and will not work properly with a 3-coil Sterling style pickup.
