Description
The STC-2PSB is a 2-band onboard preamp for fretless basses with two passive pickups. It has bass and treble controls, a master volume and a blend control.
Steve Bailey voiced it with focused EQ bands and a frequency contour switch that brings out fretless harmonics and adds a midrange boost. Pull up the volume knob to engage the contour, and preset it with the two small trim pots on the circuit board. It fits fretless basses with room for three knobs (volume with contour switch, blend, concentric bass and treble). It runs on a single 9V battery, and two 9V batteries can be wired in series for more headroom.
