Description
The STC-3A is a low-noise, high-headroom 3-band onboard preamp for basses with two active pickups. It works as a replacement for your existing electronics or in a new build.
The 4-knob pre-wired harness has a stacked bass/treble control, a midrange control, a master volume and a blend control. The treble is bright without getting brittle, the midrange can remove honk or add punch for solos, and the bass can tighten a boomy instrument or add warmth. Pull up the volume knob to engage the Slap Switch, an EQ contour voiced for slap playing, and set that contour with the two small trim pots on the circuit board. It runs on a single 9V battery, and two 9V batteries can be wired in series for more headroom.
