Description
The California 50's Loaded Pickguard puts a set of Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Strat pickups into a prewired pickguard, ready to drop into a Stratocaster. Hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets and heavy Formvar wire give a bright, glassy, bell-like 1950s Strat tone with a crisp treble attack, a focused low end and clear note separation.
The set has a standard-wound neck pickup, a reverse wind, reverse polarity middle pickup for hum-free in-between tones and a slightly overwound bridge pickup for even balance. The pots, selector switch and capacitor are high quality, and all connections use vintage-style cloth push-back wire. The white pickguard uses the 11-screw USA pattern.
