Description
The SCPB-1 Vintage Single Coil is a vintage-correct single-coil pickup made to look and sound like the early 1950s P-Bass original. It recreates the pickup of the Tele-style bass that is considered the first production bass. It has a strong low end and a subtle, articulate midrange punch. The output is a little lower than other pickups, which gives plenty of headroom while keeping a distinct classic tone.
Seymour Duncan builds it with authentic components, down to the black yarn wrapped around the coil and the waxed cloth cable. The Forbon flatwork is hand filed, assembled and lacquered, and the hand-ground alnico 5 rod magnets match the originals.
