Description
The Phat Cat is a true single-coil P90 soapbar built under a humbucker cover, so it drops into any standard humbucker slot. It was first developed in the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop for Hamer Guitars. Two alnico 2 bar magnets give more sustain and a softer attack than a traditional single coil, and the metal cover gives more shielding and noise reduction than a standard soapbar cover.
This is the bridge model. It has authentic bridge-position P90 grit and growl, chords with bright harmonics and a sharp single-coil cut for solos. Pair it with the Phat Cat neck for a complete set. This version has a nickel-plated cover.
