Description
The Pegasus is a moderate-output bridge humbucker for progressive and modern metal. It was first built for 7- and 8-string guitars, with an Alnico 5 bar magnet and custom windings for a warm, balanced, lush tone with a strong midrange and a focused low end. Its high resonant peak gives a sparkly top end and lets chords bloom under high gain.
Pick attack is quick and accurate, so it cuts through a live mix and tracks tightly in the studio. Because the output is moderate, it works for clean sounds as well as distortion. Pair it with the Sentient neck pickup. This version has a black soapbar cover with one row of exposed poles for a modern active look, and it drops into any 8-string guitar with an active pickup rout. It is a passive pickup.
