Description
The Antiquity Humbucker is Seymour Duncan's recreation of the 1950s P.A.F. humbucker that Seth Lover designed, built for players who want the look and sound of a vintage Les Paul pickup. The bridge model has the open, airy tone of the original P.A.F. High notes cut through with a smooth top end, and low notes growl with a spongy vintage warmth. Seymour Duncan winds it a little hotter than the neck for balance and warmth.
Each Antiquity humbucker is built in the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop and wound on Seymour's original Leesona winding machine from the early Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Like the original P.A.F., it is not wax potted, which takes it to the edge of harmonic breakup. This one is the Retrospec'd version of the bridge pickup: the same Antiquity build with an unaged nickel silver cover for a new look.
