Description
The X1R is a passive figure-8 ribbon microphone that brings traditional ribbon character into a road-ready, all-metal body derived from the X1 condenser chassis. A hand-crafted 2.5-micron aluminum ribbon element sits between neodymium magnets and handles SPLs up to 135 dB, making it usable on guitar cabinets, drum overheads, brass, strings, and broadcast voice-over where a smoother top end is desired.
sE borrows high-frequency extension technology from the VR ribbon line to give the X1R a gentle lift before rolling off around 16 kHz, adding air and definition without the harshness some condensers impart on loud sources. The mic is phantom-protected but does not require 48V power.
