Description

The Gemini II is a large-diaphragm dual-tube cardioid condenser microphone designed for vocals and instruments in professional studio recording. A 12AX7 (ECC83) tube handles the input stage while a 12AU7 (ECC82) tube drives a transformerless output, combining tube warmth with the extended high-frequency detail of a modern condenser. An external PSU and 8-pin cable keep AC noise away from the capsule.

Improvements over the original Gemini include a switchable 150 Hz high-pass filter and a -10 dB pad for loud sources such as drum rooms and timpani. The large 1 1/4" hand-tuned capsule and low noise floor make it suited to intimate vocal takes without the ambient hiss typical of vintage tube mics.
